Heike Schirmer / MUSEUM

Heike Schirmer

1960 Born in Rohrbach, Germany
1987 Graduated as a designer from Düsseldorf’s University of Applied Sciences
1984 Established the “detail” atelier in Düsseldorf
1996 Established the “detailzwo” gallery
2006 Enlarged the latter into the “detail3” gallery

She once even put bean pods on her work table, Heike Schirmer reports. Her creative curiosity and her enthusiasm for metal inspire this designer and gallery-owner to always venture into new jewelry spheres. Heike Schirmer’s favorite objects to design are rings because it’s with them that she can best express her affinity for architecture and her love for plastic art. In her Perlschleife (“Pearl-Studded Loop”) and Steinschleife (“Stone-Studded Loop”) rings, she has brought the sculptural quality to perfection – no matter whether they gently caress the wearer’s finger or decorate a room as art objects.
