Achim Gersmann

1962 Born in Dortmund, Germany
1989–1994 University of Applied Sciences, Trier/Idar-Oberstein
1995 Founded his own atelier in Bamberg

The jewelry created by Achim Gersmann is characterized by uniting constructivist austerity with surprising, playful elements. Gersmann, founding member of the “Delicatesse” group of jewelry designers, was honored twice with the red dot Award for high design quality, bestowed by the Design Center of Essen, and also won several other international awards. Two of his pieces have already been included in the MODERN JEWELRY COLLECTION: his “P3” ring and his “SL” necklace. The “P3” ring features an open ring band whose ends are shaped into two reversed triangles, accentuated by diamonds. Spheres of different sizes, crafted from ultra-thin platinum wire, are combined to form his “SL” necklaces. Fastened at different points on yellow gold strings, they sway in unison with the movements of their wearer’s body.
