New Ring Variations

Juni, the German spelling of the pithy and evocative name of the summer month of June, is also the word which the designers in the Pforzheim Group have used since 2002 to denote their individualistic lines of jewelry. The repertoire of their innovative rings in 2012 ranges from the exciting material deformations which Oliver Schmidt leaves visible, through the playful mobility of Patrick Malotki’s rings, to new interpretations by Claudia Geiger, whose Klunker (i.e. “bling-bling”) let crystalline shapes float atop their wearers’ hands. The rings’ minimalistic bands contrast with the unpretentiously elegant shapes of the gemstones in polished metal.

In Patrick Malotki’s Duett, a sleekly simple outer ring contains and partly conceals a second diamond-studded ring, thus creating from one piece a couple that’s full of symbolism and inseparable, yet free to move.

Oliver Schmidt, Four-Ever wedding-rings, 750 rose gold, diamonds.
Oliver Schmidt’s theme is the joy of meeting a special someone and no longer feeling as though one needs to flee in all directions. His new Four-Ever wedding-rings combine the ideas of the circle and the square. The metal is pressed into a four-part mould so that fine lines appear on the outside and curvatures are created along the edges. The graining depends on the alloy: the wearer can choose among large crystalline, finely structured and smooth.
