His rings from the Faltenwurf [Folds] series look like carefully folded ripples or loops of fabric. Incident light refracts appealingly when it strikes the lively surfaces. An intensive artistic and craftsmanly process underlies all this. High-quality precious metal is wrought, embossed and hammered until it acquires the natural movement that typifies Rudi Sand’s work. The relationship between the clothes and the jewelry is of primary importance to this designer.
