INVENT – CONTEMPORARY JEWELRY 2011

November 13, 2011 Berlin, Germany

Uli Biskup, “Tutu” necklace. Blackened silver.

For twelve years now “Invent”, a sales exhibition at “Stilwerk” Berlin, has been synonymous with innovative modern jewelry design. This year, it will present the works by 35 selected goldsmiths and jewelry designers from all over Germany. Beate Brinkmann, the exhibition’s initiator and a jewelry designer herself, chose the participants on the basis of three quality criteria: “They have to distinguish themselves by a unique approach and an inimitable signature style. And they must be perfect masters of the art of goldsmithing,” she says. All the exhibitors will present their creations in person, inviting visitors to enter into an exchange of thoughts and ideas. After all, many a piece of jewelry only reveals all of its facets when the wearer tries it on and talks about it with the designer.

Monika Glöss, “dots&dashes” rings. Silver and acrylic.
