OUR JEWELRY OF THE DAY: THE FACETS BROOCHES DESIGNED BY BRITTA REJEK. ACRYLIC GLASS AND 925 SILVER.
The “Facets Brooches” designed by Britta Rejek present a colorful interplay between light refraction, color and transparency. While still studying at Düsseldorf’s University of Applied Sciences, she already examined the topic of “In-Between Spaces”. With her “Facets Brooches”, this jewelry designer has reinterpreted the theme of doublets which combine two different materials to form a single stone. Depending on the beholder’s angle of view, the transparent plastic either absorbs the color of the subjacent surface or deflects it.
