Urushi, a Japanese lacquering technique, has been a specialty of Sabine Hauss’s since 1989. What also characterizes the jewelry created by this internationally renowned designer are the geometric, minimalist shapes used in her pieces. A sophisticated plug-in principle based on a connecting pin enables the wearer to vary, extend and complement the earrings as she pleases. The various elements all go very well with one another and can be matched to one’s individual needs and outfit. The basic elements can be complemented by pendant elements, circular elements, hoops for creole earrings, round or rectangular disks as well as spheres or hemispheres. In addition, all these different shapes come in a wide variety of colors due to the different materials they are made of such as gold, silver, stainless steel, Tahitian pearls, diamonds, colored gemstones and, of course, Japanese lacquer. All these different shapes and colors provide countless combination options and, as a result, different looks ranging from austere to decorative or even playful, depending on which elements are combined.
