Torsten Trautvetter

1974 Born in Bad Salzungen, Germany
1999–2002 Trained as a goldsmith
Seit 2006 Established his atelier in Hanover
Seit 2009 Further training at the “Werkakademie für Gestaltung und Design im Handwerk Niedersachsen” (Craft Academy of Lower Saxony) to become a state-certified designer

Uniting traditional and modern design elements in his one-of-a-kind pieces, Torsten Trautvetter covers the entire gamut from the antique goldsmithing art to classic modernism. Always focusing on impeccable craftsmanship and perfect wearing comfort, he not only applies traditional goldsmithing techniques but also works with ultra-fine precious metal strips and wires. By weaving or braiding them he creates surfaces of different character, depending on the individual strips’ width, the nature of the different metals combined and the weaving or braiding technique applied. Trautvetter also uses gemstones, preferably natural ones in special cuts and unusual colors, “if they match the concept of the piece.”
