In 1988, at the International Summer Academy of Fine Arts in Salzburg, Eva Maisch discovered her design talent in one of Johanna Dahm’s jewelry classes. With her Dollarkrause (“Dollar Collar”) ruff necklace created in 1994, Maisch presented an artistically designed piece of jewelry interpreting the subject of prestige and investment. In 1999 she created the Ein Punkt tritt an die Seite (“A Dot Steps Aside”) collection which features small lateral spheres linking elements of different shape to form minimalist necklaces. The colored gemstones of her Stone necklaces are combined according to the principle of a child’s daisy necklace. On her “quest for traditions” Eva Maisch discovered porcelain in 2003 which led her to start collaborating with KPM, the Royal Porcelain Manufactory in Berlin. The respective rings and necklaces are adorned with round or oval porcelain disks featuring both traditional and novel motifs.
