Viví Touloumidi would much rather not give her pieces any names, “because sometimes the names limit the beholder’s imagination too much,” she comments. “Everybody should have their own associations.” Nevertheless, when we look at her jewelry, we can’t help but think of the arms of squid or octopuses, of marine plants or mineral crystals. All her creations are one-of-a-kind pieces made of enameled fine silver on the basis of a beeswax model and finally galvanized. After she first studied Financial Management and Banking, this Greek designer rather accidentally found her way to jewelry. What she likes about working as a jewelry designer is the fact that she can always discover new paths and is constantly in the process of reflecting and experimenting. She does not strive for definite solutions but instead expresses “the longing for the right balance”. Her pieces serve as metaphors and are not intended to provide unambiguous answers.
