Denise Julia Reytan questions established values and at the same time tries to reveal the beauty of colors, shapes and materials open-mindedly and without reservation. In her jewelry, the precious is transformed into something non-precious, and the non-precious acquires a noble and gracious aura. To create her pieces, Reytan combines different design disciplines, expands the notion of jewelry and transcends boundaries. Her highly symbolic, excessively colorful pieces and assemblages are meant to seduce, fascinate and sensitize us. To complement her new, contemporary interpretation of traditional or national jewelry, she has also designed the matching dresses. She regards her pieces of jewelry as snapshots of the time she lives in and the culture that surrounds her.
